چکیده

Abstract In this paper, we propose to apply the linear mixed effects model (LMEM) for first time in discipline evaluate wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) data. Because most widely used statistical analyses cannot handle data dependency, as well fixed and random factors, a new approach was essential. We LMEM method analyze three groups of 19 pharmaceuticals personal care products (PPCPs) from California municipal WWTP. studied relationships between five treatments, seasons, PPCPs. The main contributions paper are investigate three-way two-way factor interactions that autoregressive lag 1, AR (1), is suitable variance-covariance structure dependency. While seasons did not affect mean concentration levels treatments ( $$p=0.2540$$ p = 0.2540 ), differed by $$p<0.0001$$ < 0.0001 ) $$p=0.0027$$ 0.0027 ).

Data-driven modeling approaches to support wastewater treatment plant operation

In wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), much effort and money is invested in operating and maintaining dense plant-wide measuring networks. The network primarily serves as input for the advanced control scenarios that are implemented in the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system to satisfy the stringent effluent quality constraints. Due to new developments in information techno...

Stability analysis of a wastewater treatment plant with saturated control.

This paper presents a saturated proportional controller that achieves depollution of wastewater in a continuous anaerobic digester. This goal is reached by defining a region of the state-space where the depollution is achieved and forcing attractivity and invariance of this region. The control variable is the dilution rate and the controlled variable is a linear combination (S(lambda)) of the s...

Sludge Characterization of an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant, Iran

Background and purpose: Disposing sludge from industrial wastewater treatment plants (IWWTPs) is a serious issue because it can affect human and animals health, and also environmental quality. In this study, sludge from an IWWTP was analyzed regarding its physicochemical characteristics and disposal options. Materials and Methods: Grab sampling was used to collect 12 sludge samples biweekly (Ma...

Modeling and analysis of pumps in a wastewater treatment plant: A data-mining approach

A data-mining approach is proposed to model a pumping system in a wastewater treatment plant. Two parameters, energy consumption and wastewater flow rate after the pumping system, are used to evaluate the performance of 27 scenarios while the pump was operating. Five data-mining algorithms are applied to identify the relationships between the outputs (energy consumption and wastewater flow rate...

Effect of operating parameters on the performance of wastewater treatment plant (Case study: The south of Tehran wastewater treatment)

Despite the fact that there are wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) currently operational across Iran and great advances have been made in this area, there are still problems in the design, construction, and operation of WWTPs with large nonlinear systems, varying flow rates, and pollution charges. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of operating parameters including the r...
